Another fun way to bet at tournaments

To get past the problem of the draft, you can just do an auction, and it won't take long. Here's how it goes. The bettors are Alice and Bob. Decide on your bet amount, let's just call it $100.
You take turns naming players to bid on. As a player is named, both Alice and Bob will write down their bid. Whole dollar amounts, minimum bid of $1, up to $100 (since that's what you're betting). Whoever bids more gets that player, and deducts the bid amount from their pot. If there's a tie in the bid, just throw that player out, or flip for it... whatever you want. Next player comes up, and Alice and Bob each write down another bid, etc.
You stop when Alice and Bob each get their eight players, or when you run out of money to bid with -- eventually you're going to run out. If you don't use up all of your $100 to bid on players, too bad. You're still betting $100.
If somebody can get a hold of the list of entrants for the SA tournament, I might be willing to take a crack at this.
