I actually like smaller tournaments, with their relaxing schedule and atmosphere that allow for plenty of chouettes and kibitzing. especially when it's in nice location. My only trip to Wisconsin was very enjoyable, I liked Tampa few years ago (saw they reopened this year and have an event in February), really liked Carolina tournament last year with its fun Faster Masters event and great organization, DC tournament has nice hotel and food selection, trip to Peoria couple of years ago was great as well. And those tournaments IMHO are no less important to the game in US than bigger events.
