VRR - Challenge

Timothy Chow, Bob Koca and Jason Lee, often state that using VRR methods are far superior to PR-based methods but without, it appears to me, explaining how practical application of VRR techniques are. I have a few questions:

1. To use this method is it necessary to manually take XG output from each match and input into some specialist programme, spreadsheet or database? Or does XG or some other bot do this automatically, for full sets of matches?

2. What measure of performance do you proposes, e.g. Elo or normalised win-rate?

3. In comparison to PR, how large a sample size is needed to obtain comparable levels of reliability?

If there is a practical automated process to develop a VRR based database, then it certainly should be considered as BMAB as a potential alternative parallel system.

Perhaps you could demonstrate the process by using the data from the first BMAB tournament, a 6 player duplicated round robin, the results of which are available on the BMAB website (Resources page), in terms of .mat files and XG profile files. This is your challenge!
