It's still a terrible call. The problem isn't that they chose to throw a pass, which for the reasons Steve points out may be defensible, it's that they chose to throw a pass over the middle where defenders were bunched, making it more likely that it could be intercepted or deflected, resulting in an interception. If they were going to try a pass, it should have been into the corner of the end zone (unlikely to be intercepted) or better still fake a run by Lynch and have Wilson roll out with the option of running or passing (there's no better QB in the NFL at executing this play).
