Your point of too many side events and constructive criticism reminds me of a kid who eats too many candies until he has a stomach ache, and then criticizes his parents for not restricting him while pointing out that they are lucky he left some for others.

You may have a point, but first look at how you could prevent this yourself. If you were disciplined to limit yourself in advance then there would be no potential problems.

Since you are not the only player who shows interest in almost all side events, I agree that the directors should restrict it in one way or another. I think that CJC has an efficient and dynamic way of limiting the number of side events by asking any player who registers to a side event what events is he still in and based on that and her years of experience she decides whether he can enter the requested side event without significantly slowing the flow of all events.
