Does seem like a bad word choice.

My observation is that the majority of my opponents - and my own - illegal plays benefit those who made them. I put this down to the subconscious.

I think that, though it is much harder to do, we can unconsciously influence the rolls in our favour - certainly when we don't pay proper attention to producing a random roll. That is the biggest reason why I like to use a baffle box for my own rolls, and hope that my opponents do to.
