The highest possible setting for analysis which does not involve rollouts is used for Danish bot norms, if I'm not mistaken. It's a custom setting using XGR++ for both checker and cube decisions with Gigantic search filter. BMS norms use a custom version of the standard "world class" setting. The only difference is that Gigantic search interval is used for BMS norms. (Again, if I'm not mistaken.)
The XGR++ Gigantic setting should be able to handle an average 9-11pt match in about an hour on a power PC. It may take an entire day on a slower machine. There is also a middling compromise described by Michelle. I used to use it for analyzing my matches, but switched to Danish norm standards starting this year.
Oh, by the way, don't be afraid to overclock your i7 chip. It's built to be overclocked. If you are not doing that, then you are not using its full potential. My ancient 2600K chip still goes strong at 4.3GHz (from stock 3.4) after 2+ years of almost 24/7 load.
