JokerGammon - New BG variant

I have come up with several variants, and either immediately or eventually someone will say something like, "What's wrong with the game the way it is? Why don't you like the game?"
People don't like change. And they don't like new ideas unless it's their own. So most people will never try your variation.
I love variations and can't wait to try yours, and it's not because I don't love the game or think there is anything wrong with it. I like ribs, but I don't eat them every night.
I also think variations can provide insights into the main game...for example, some force you into positions and situations in the early game that you would not see in a normal game, and then you have to truly use your brain, instead of any references, to make the best plays and to try to figure out how to win.
At first blush your variation seems a little complicated, but after a game or two I am sure it will be easy.
While we're talking about variations, I have learned and enjoyed softies...where you must either pass or beaver the first cube, and I love Nack's idea that you must slot the opening roll, and I will always continue to love backgammon-to-lose more than any game I have ever played.
