Wilson should have exercised his veto power when he heard the call; maybe roll-out or give it to Lynch.

Perhaps, but before changing to one of those, he must read something in the defense to justify it. Yet everything I have seen suggests the Pats were stacked against the run. If that is right, then the pass play Seattle had called was not inappropriate for the defense they saw and the personnel they had on the field.

The biggest criticism I have for the Seahawks is that QB Wilson could not or did not execute well. His number one job was not to turn it over. Throw it away, sure, but throwing anything that had a 1-in-25 or even a 1-in-50 chance to be picked off was a huge failure. Not every QB can see everything or read a defense like old Joe Montana used to do, so perhaps I should not judge Wilson harshly. After all, as good as he is, he is not yet in the first rank of NFL quarterbacks.

Of course, a lot of it was just luck. Throw the ball, and sometimes you get intercepted. Run the ball, and sometimes you fumble. Let the Seahawks start with a pass play, and replay the last 26 seconds a hundred or a thousand times, and they walk away as champions something like 75% or 80% of the time, possibly more.
