MCG "Every time I have to wake up at 9AM on Sunday to start playing in an hour after losing in the main the night before I die a little bit inside."
You attend mostly big tourneys. Sometimes things can be worse at smaller events, although some directors are starting to understand your complaint so things are getting a bit better.
MCG again said, "Every time I have to wake up at 9AM on Sunday to start playing in an hour after losing in the main the night before I die a little bit inside."
Now I know what my insides are dead? I've been doing this tourney stuff for almost 40 years. Geez...I thought it was the vodka and spicy foods killing my insides but now I know better.
The worse suffering I ever had at a BG event was about a couple decades ago. The event had several notoriously slow players. The Calcutta took 45 minutes longer than scheduled since the auctioneer couldn't STFU. Then it took 25 minutes to get the draw done and posted. My side of the conso was at some point 3 round behind on Saturday night with two super slow players and no pressure being put on them. I was forced to start a match at 1:15 am knowing that the winner had to play at 9 am Sunday since the loser of that conso (money rd) had to go to the LC. There was no convincing this director of anything. Mercifully, my (I'm doubling your backgame since I think you'll screw it up so I can win the match and sleep cube worked) and I was finished at 2:30 am. Somehow I won my 9 am match against an opp who was equally pissed off about that start time. Then I won the conso finals paid for half a room night til 5:30 pm went to sleep before my flight.
The above isn't fun, isn't what BG T's should be about and is torture and unhealthy at any age.
I could wear out my key board with similar stories almost as severe as this and have seen others forced to suffer even 30 to 60 minutes less time overnight.
