Here is one scenario of strange behavior I thought of. Say you are sitting at 2.9 losses and the tournament says you are out at 3 losses. You really can't afford to have any partial result because that will put you over 3. If the horn goes off, you will do everything you can to send the cube high enough to ensure that the current game decides the match if you win.
