Ed thought about this...

I do not understand the sentimentality in this thread. Ed is a Giant. He gave a bad cube. He made a mistake. It cannot be rationalized that he was playing a human that might drop, because he was playing another Giant and he has every reason to assume that his opponent would not make a bonehead pass on a cube that isn't even a double. This has nothing to do with his age, or being hard on him. The fact is whether or not the action was correct, and if not why not. And it was not a cube simply because of the auto recube and the loss of equity of Ray rolls a double on a 16 cube in a 13 point match.
It's not a matter of cutting someone slack or being hard on someone. We all make errors and it was an interesting situation that many of us might have missed over the board and it is worth discussing because most of us might make a mistake calculating the doubling windows and take points at 7away/13away and some might even miscalculate the odds of a 2roll/2roll position.
I certainly don't think any less of Ed because he made a cube error here...let someone who never makes one criticize the person and not the action.
I was watching and I immediately thought it was an error (hooray for me, I got one right!) and as soon as the match ended I texted Ray and told him...Ed was "incredulous" (Ray's words) and thought he had nailed that cube. Further proof that even Giants are human, in case anyone had any doubts.
What was fun to me was that Ray flipped the auto-cube to 16 and needed double doubles but instead rolled.....drum roll......6-2! So it was 6-2 and off to the bar!
