Don't I want to ratchet up the cube more in simple games, like races, and in highly-volatile games where a shot might win me a lot of gammons and a miss might just lose me the game? Don't I want to have lower cubes in more complicated games where Mochy has a big advantage on me in checker play?

This is my thinking, but maybe you can correct me.

Now, I agree that if you have two equally-skilled players these concepts don't apply, but the whole point here is that we are not equally skilled. Do you not agree with these ideas, Stick?
