A clumsy (or angle shooting) player may hold on to the tube for a while after turning it and knock it over leading to ambiguity about if there had been a valid roll already produced.

I have only played one match with a dice tube, but didn't run into the problem you mentioned. In fact, I'd say there is less ambiguity about whether a roll is valid or not when using a dice tube versus dice cups.

My one concern about the tube is that it is rather heavy so your arm might get tired after a while.
