RN: BG tourneys are still in the dark ages, there's no regulatory body the have to conform to...it's like the wild west or commercial mortgage underwriting for loans under 1 million, they can just do what they want.

Welllll... I think that this is how it is across the board - not just BG, but chess, bridge, poker etc. Its just that here, on this forum, this is where Directors go for opinions. People here aren't shy about sharing them. There's a lot more transparency available. We also ask for criticisms and comments too. I am sure there are similar venues for the other tournament type places, but perhaps people don't speak up as much, or they aren't paid attention to - I couldnt say for certain.

At least in BG, we consider others, we want to know where we don't succeed, and we welcome comments. This is such a strong group of players and competitors, its really the home base for all these players - in terms of online forum / community.

For example, almost all USBGF announcements are made here as well as on their site. Almost all BG tournaments are advertised here. Anything of note in the BG world gets published here. We even just got notices about the Nordic event on this site.

Does any other group have such a resource? I don't know. Where do the top poker players in the world share their insights into tournaments and play etc? Maybe BG is better in that respect. Can you tell me a web forum where approximately 25-30 of the top players in the world will share their knowledge happily?

I think we have it good here.

Keene
