43D-66B-66 — Nactation Key Family Nactation Traditional Notation Note Jump J 10/4, 9/3, 8/2(2) J leaves blots/spares on the 3pt and 4pt. Jump j 10/4, 8/2(3) j leaves blots/spares on the 2pt and 4pt. It loses to J because it does not put a blot on the 3pt. Jump J 9/3, 8/2(3) J puts blots/spares on the 2pt and 3pt. It loses to both J and j because it does not leave a blot on the 4pt. In the Jump family, each die in a roll is used to “jump” a checker over the bar, from the outer board to the inner board. Page 60 of the Nactation Tutorial lists the preferred destinations for checkers that become blots or spares when they are moved in a play:
Prioritize blot/spare destination in this point-by-point order: 6pt, 5pt, 4pt, 3pt, 2pt, 1pt, 12pt, 11pt, 10pt, 9pt, 8pt, 7pt, 13pt, 14pt, 15pt… 24pt.
In short: 6pt—>1pt, 12pt—>7pt, 13pt—>24pt.
