Earlier in this game I didn't want to break the 20 pt too early as I preferred to bring builders closer as there was little risk to get stuck on the 20 pt. One reason is that the 20 pt is a point. Here, I think that while this is closer, I think the 14 pt still is a point.

We clearly want the 14 pt if they enter. If they had two on the bar, I'd play 14/8 without question.

If we play 14/8 we really don't like their entering joker 11. We also don't like our 44 if they enter, and it isn't a great roll if they dance. 33 also plays better for us if they anchor and we've come out 20/14. While I think it's close I do think that the gains from having the point made slightly outweigh the gains from bringing a checker 7 pips away from our close out target.

I still slightly prefer 20/14.
