Sorry, I was making a joke. (Which is why I followed by "But seriously...")

Most people attend tournaments to have a good time, not to advance the cause of backgammon, or world peace for that matter. Of course, it's great if we can do both. But if it's less fun to attend tournaments because they have to hand record matches or read a 50-page rule book if it ever gets that long, or lose a match because they made an honest mistake moving pieces, then you'll have a small tournament with dead-serious players.

I don't know anything about Denmark except I had a great time there as a tourist! As to getting them into schools, I think some federation needs to come up with a protocol to understand how children interact with BG. I didn't play as a child even though it was on the back of checker boards, because no one in my family knew how to play BG. But we knew how to play checkers and so that's what we played. We also played Parcheesi, so it's not like we didn't like to race checkers around a board.
