CSI Special Private Side Pool

I cannot for the life of me understand what difference it makes where the Tournament organizer gets his income. Bottom line is he has to cover his expenses and maybe, if he's lucky, make a few bucks for all of his trouble and all the crap he has to take from people who complain no matter what he does.

What difference does it make it 5 frigging percent comes off the side pool or a 10 percent rake from the main, or a $25 signup fee or a $50 hospitality fee, or if we pay an extra $10 a night on the room and he gets a kickback?

As far as I am concerned, anything that rakes a little money strictly from the winners is a good way to do it...it's the least painful to everyone, and though in reality, everyone pays for it because of the reduced return on equity, the truth is the bigger winners pay a little more than the rest of us.

Hell, when I cash in a tournament, I give a big tip to the staff even though it is not required, just to say thanks and because I know they work hard and I want them to be paid well. Another 5 percent don't mean crap to anyone, but it does to the staff.

Anyone who gets in my side pool who does not feel they would like to give 5 percent to the tournament staff, I hereby give the option of getting in the side pool without paying it. I will pay it for you.

You know, there is a saying: "If you don't want to do something, any excuse will do." If the only objection you can think of to this side pool is the 5 percent rake, then it's gone. No rake for anyone who doesn't like the idea.

Personally, I welcome the chance to give a little of my winnings to the staff if I am fortunate enough to win. There are so many things far less petty to bitch about and to be concerned with...like having good scheduling; having directors who know and enforce the rules fairly; treating people nicely; welcoming new players; having good lighting and a spacious playing room. Who the F really cares about 5 percent? Really? Really?
