Mochy and Falafel coming to US Open

In a heads up money game that's an interesting idea. It's a kind of spot to the weaker player and, even when the players are very evenly matched, would help (slightly) to even up the score. The same could apply in a private match. Of course, doubles should not count. I have always felt there is an argument in chouette that the box should start each game.
In tournaments I would feel differently. In a game that already has a substantial luck factor, anything that tends to suppress skill seems counterproductive to me. Tournaments ultimately should be fun, but they should be fun trying to find the best player.
On the same subject, in your pending session with Mochy, you will be alternating the opening roll. If you truly alternate it each game, even though it will cancel out in an even number of games, one player is always playing 'catch up'. In my regular heads up sessions, we play alternate openers some sessions (along with equal openers in others, where you get identical opening rolls). But we change the right to start after every odd numbered game, like they change ends in tennis.
