Chaos reigned but at least it is a start. I decided to watch one game but to log all three. It was unimpressive so I moved to a better match that the Japanese player was playing at a 4 PR level apparently. I had expected to get the downloads of all three matches. I was sadly wrong. I asked in the lobby if the match's could be played out in order that the downloads would be available. I was not the only person to make such a request. The earlier match I was watching had finished and the download made available. I realised that it did not look like the other two would be made available. There was a guy there that seemed to be part of the setup. I messaged them but was blanked immediately. I have no objection to people not wishing their game logs to me to be made available as long as one is aware of that fact. I for one would not have been there. Let's hope Phil's generous gift has not fallen on stony ground. The organisation was not a match for the Japanese players skills.
I watched the Backgammon Hall of Fame video. One of the inductees mention that in the early days of 1974 even watching someone's game was frowned upon but now those dark days were long gone. Not so Sir apparently.
The date brings to mind the friendly party atmosphere aroused by having six players and one dice roller in a round robin thingy.PR had a different connotation in those days. I guess we were a few steps above Ludo lol.
