the choices seem to be 1) a tempo hit on the ace 6/1*, 2) a tempo hit on the 5 8/5* 8/6 (or 8/5* 6/4) , or 3) a 'safe play' 13/8.
The anchor and better board says play safe, while the race lead and their blockade says safe.
The safe play abandons the midpoint aftr which we will have no outfield coverage - basically it commits us to playing a three-point game with a slight race lead. That's not too bad.
The hitting plays risk having a third checker sent back and we probably face an ugly cube. And even if our blitz is successful, we still have to spring the runners. OTOH, we'll need to spring the runners anyway.
Not really sure what's best, but the three point game sounds boring. Which way to hit?
8/5 8/6 makes an ugly stack and only gives one builder fo the blot. 8/5 6/4 looks better, but exposes a double shot with 53. (but no additional shots). 6/1* is safest of the hitting plays, but do we want to bury a checker on the ace? Well, in a blitz, all points are equal so maybe that's best.
I'll mix it up with 8/5* 6/4 and hope for the best.
