Spring Cleaning 1: Barry, you asked me to ask you

In a mid-February post in the MCG's thread about abolishing the LC, you said regarding your Capitol Classic tournament (a few days prior to that event):

We do not have a Last Chance. We have a progressive Consolation after two losses.

Actually I think there is a difference between that and Last Chance. In our format only the winner and finalist stay out of the Consolation, so the Consolation bracket winner will win the 2nd largest prize amount, after the winner- the same amount as the finalist in the main bracket. And a decent chunk of the progressive Consolation is finished on Saturday.

I encourage others (e.g. Jason and participants) who attended to chime in as well.

How did the timing of this First Chance + Second Chance + Consolation flow? I'm noting that although CJC does this for Novi and (IMO) it goes smoothly, she pays about 6% of cashers (5 players) in the Main and 5% of cashers (4 players) in the Consolation for 80-90 player field in the Open. More importantly she has 3 days for the B1G event(s) (Open, Int, Beginners) because of the Independence Day holiday (long) weekend. You didn't have that opportunity.

Finally, it appeared you got hurt by the bad winter suffered in the eastern half of the US. Do you think a larger field (40, 50, 60...) could be handled this way for only a 2-day weekend Championship event?
