Late in ND - Kentucky game (OT)

Kentucky scores to tie the score with 1:10 left. Wally Szerbiak on CBS Sports explained how ND should have shot the ball with about 0:50 left so that they would get what he called a "2-for-1." If ND and Kentucky both score, ND will get the ball back with at least 15 seconds left and can play for a last second game-winning shot. Same thing if they both fail to score (assuming ND gets the rebound). If it goes score-no score, ND gets the rebound, they're big favs. If ND doesn't score and Kentucky does, ND gets the ball with 15 or more seconds left to try and tie or take the lead with a 3 point shot.

Szerbiak said this is SOP in the NBA but that college coaches seldome use this tactic. Seems like the percentage play to me.
