White has the better anchor combination and the better prime, and is a little ahead in the race. I don't think we should give White more chances to send back checkers and a free roll to make the 8, so I start with hitting 21/17*. Then I need an additional 5. I would need want to leave shots on our side of the board, so 21/16 or 23/18. OTB I would play 21/16, but a case can be made for 23/18 to aggressively try to upgrade the anchor (playing with the 2 anchor would not be too attractive). If hit back, we get many returns and anchoring rolls. Don't know, either 21/17* 23/18 or 21/17* 21/16.
