ruling in the Nordic Open SJ - rollout

Player B won the match after the TD ruled that the match was not over.
Player B did not request a ruling committee when the ruling went against him, he just wanted to play by the rules.
Player A would have requested a committee if the ruling had gone against A.
After the incident I was approached by B in the hall where he wanted to know my opinion. I told him that he was entitled to play by the rules and he was entitled to ask for a ruling (if it was him who wanted the ruling) but I also made it crystal clear that I saw it as an unfair attempt to "steal the win" by using the rules to his advantage. A gentleman would have recognized the error and just continued the match when the error was noticed without any fuzz. B went on to inform me that he was really a rules-guy and just wanted to play by the rules. I told him that playing fair and being a gentleman supercedes the rules and if there is a conflict betweeen fairness and rules, then the rules need to be re-written.
