Sports doping (way off topic)

The technology will get ahead of the game, and the game will change. With or without drugs athletes are willing to destroy their bodies for the sake of their sports. And conditions of contest change constantly. Golf drivers use new tech, ditto tennis rackets: comparing Tiger Woods with Bobby Jones, or Roger Federer with Big Bill Tilden makes little sense. If Tiger or Roger were doping (heard rumors about one of them) the comparison would still make little sense, albeit in a different way.
One day your grandkid may get treated for some condition, ALS perhaps? And will not only be cured, but will be stronger and faster than the athletes in his school, but ineligible to play against them because he "took drugs." Or not. Because common sense will prevail. There are sound medical reasons for taking many of the "banned" substances. They treat the damage the athletes are already doing to their bodies.
What stands in the way are two prejudices: the fear and ignorance surrounding drug use; reactionaries who do not like change.
