Pay now or later?

This looks more like “pay now and pay later.”

Any play that leaves a blot may provoke a cube turn, one that I am not sure Yellow can take. Even if he can, staving that off for one more turn may be the best play. I’ll go with the safe play that lifts the 8pt. If that play triggers a cube from Black, I think Yellow can take it because of his racing advantage.

Mind you, I have very low confidence here.
