In Response To: Simborg interview with Tuvya Felt (Tom Keith)

Thanks for posting this, Tom! It is a great read.

Most interviews in print fail to capture the personality and character of the interviewee. However, Phil nailed it. Well done! Interviewing is tough! I've done interviews, both for radio and print and never had the feeling that I was effective in bringing the character of the person to the audience.

Writers are faced with the challenge of screening feedback. Friends and family will be complimentary, as will many others. How does one develop his or her craft further? How can one determine what works, and what fails to work, and why?

This interview works because it captures aspects of Tuvya's personality and character. Phil asked open ended questions, and Tuvya's interpretation of the question gave us insight into his character. It is easy to see how Tuvya loves backgammon. It is in his blood and mine. I love that!

Further, reading about a mid level player gives encouragement to all other mid level players. This is a great way to promote the game. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here.

Well done, both!
