I would be strongly opposed to any rule that takes away a player's right to call for a break. I don't think it's a problem at all to have multiple breaks in a match. I would, however, support a reasonable method of enforcing the length of breaks. That is where I see much more abuse.

When I look around a tournaments, I notice that there are always more than a few males over the age of 50. I hear that some folks in this demographic can't always predict when they will next need a break. I also agree with niuniuch that sometimes a break can be important for a player to clear his head, calm down after a bad beat, etc.

By the way, I have frequently asked for a break after winning a game. But it's more of a demographic thing than a strategy thing...
