In Response To: potential swiss rules modification (Chuck Bower)

I believe this can easily be adapted to BG.

In bridge team tournaments in Europe, matches are scored according to a VP table with winner and loser dividing 30 VPs. (in the US, matches are scored with 2 VPs at stake)

The usual rule was that the team that had a bye got 18 points unless their average was better than that in which case they would receive their own average for the bye.

(my last bridge tournament is more than 15 years ago so this may no longer be the case)
