My suggestion would be to keep Falafel as I found him entertaining (maybe ask him to be less betting oriented, but give some of the others a clearer role to provide a counterpoint and a more technical analysis.

Falafel has great intuition for the game and strong opinions, so he is able to comment well with minimum delay. And he has a good voice to listen to. But when he is talking, he cannot count pips or shots or things like that, and cannot calculate (at least that is what I assume because I cannot). Somebody else can do that and pipe up when needed.

For that role, you'd need another player with strong opinions.

I think done in this way it would be (even more) fun.
