I agree. Most of that would have been solved with a rehearsal. The thing I don't get is why XG analysis would be consciously avoided. If you're not going simulcast it on the screen for the viewer to see in a split screen with the match, than at least allow the announcers to see it in real time so that their opinions can be informed. Can anyone point to a sporting event where stats were intentionally ignored? I can't. So, why would that be better for a televised backgammon match?
