I found a copy of Backgammon: Costa Rica 1993 (by Ortega, Esquivel, Madrigal and "guest coauthor" Kazaross). Among the matches therein were four played by Mike Senkiewicz, versus:
.....Wilcox (15 games)
.....Neil K. (13 games)
.....Rageb (7 games)
.....Stuart H. (14 games)Mike did not happen to roll an opening 41 in any of those matches. He did play 42P-41$ once, and 54S-41X once (in games 5 and 6 against Wilcox), but of course that's not the same thing as opening 41W.
I'm interested in the exact reference of Mike playing 41W, as it is quite a speculative opening, especially against an opponent as strong as Wilcox. (I'm aware that Ortega wrote another Costa Rica book and/or probably there were other match(es) where Mike played Wilcox in a major final.)
