I certainly see your point. I don't set the odds, that's Russell's job and of course our goal is not to give away fantasy money.
At the same time here is what hits me when I look at these odds, especially pertaining to the top half.
My odds are 18-1. I think I have a reasonable chance to win a tournament one out of every 18 times. And this tournament has far fewer players and far fewer giants than most. Do you think ray wins more than one out of 14 events? Or weaver? Or Russell? Petko? Look at Raposa and Julius and see if they are in the winner's circle less than every 15 events--and again--this is an easier tournament than your average.
I guess we could have make odds on the bottom closer of 70 to 1 or something but we don't like to embarrass people or discourage them from entering by making them look bad, and there is almost never any action in the bottom anyway.
When you look at it that way it seems like a decent bet. If I was not booking the bet I guarantee you I would be making some bets.
The good news is, if you don't see a bet you like, you don't have to bet.
Our goal is to provide something that adds interest and s little fun to the game and give people one more reason to enjoy the event and if successful we make sure that people who do all the work to run the event share in the joy.
