in pool they started streaming in about 07, it was free and rough in the early days. by 2009 they had it figured out pretty good. then they decided to cut costs by having some big matches as a PPV(like last nights horrible fight). Great plan on paper. they lost about 80%-85% of their audience when the PPV's were implemented.

Moving forwards a few years, they got the streaming down cold-looked like a studio in most cases and 2 studio's were opened for streaming events. both are now gone, that lasted a year and change. It was clear to me if they lost 80% when they switched from free to PPV, a studio wouldn't help.

currently there are a few steamers in pool and they accept donations, which they do get from a handful of people, but it appears to be working as water finds its own level so does streaming.

just my 2 cents
