In Response To: Better Recognition for the Streaming Staff (Art Grater)

Can you articulate how players who don't watch streaming or don't look at recorded matches would benefit?

There are many ways one could benefit, directly or indirectly. Just use your imagination. Here are just a couple examples. Someone may not be interested in streaming or transcripts, but may be interested in looking at positions and analysis that come out from those streams. Someone (e.g. Stick) will write an article from those transcripts, so everyone can learn something. Because of the streams, new players get recognized for their strong play. Same people will not be able to play in inferior to their ability section, which promotes fairness.

I think I am done defending my point of view. You have yours, I have mine, and it is unlikely to changes. Going back and arguing points that were addressed before seems like a waste of time to me. I will agree that requiring to pay a fee (not tax, as you suggest. Afterall, USBGF is not government) is not perfect. I just didn't think that anyone would see a 2 dollar fee as a problem. BTW, it doesn't have to be USBGF. Could be a tournament organizer, or perhaps even an individual.
