Yes, because you may not get many more chances to hit, and you are not going to be a whole lot more ready in any case if you delay (the only improvement you could make is to cover the ace and then you'd need to fill in from the back and cover the outfield), so later hits are not going to be a lot more powerful. Timing is not an issue here.

18/17* and then 20/15 to start covering the outfield.
