Getting to daylight seems clear to me. Here is the explanation I gave in my original post:

For the 2, I like advancing a back checker to the 21pt. On the 21pt, we can see daylight, so that's a good place to either anchor or escape from. There is no need to play the 2 down from the midpoint. That would strip the midpoint, and since we are usually not going to break that point, we don't gain a new builder by moving to the 11pt.

Like some others, I don't think there is much equity at stake. My guess is that the difference between the 23/21 and 13/11 is about 15-30 millipoints.
