I agree that to get more people into the game, that clubs be started locally for learning and casual playing. However what do you do when there is no interest in a town or county about starting a Backgammon club? I have tried through my Church, retirement communities such as where I live, plus other communication methods, but there is no interest whatsoever.Backgammon may be growing in popularity as mentioned on this forum, through larger attendance in tournaments etc. but I do not see any popularity at all here in the central part of Florida. I also tried to start a Backgammon club through meetup.com and I received no replies or interest.People around here just do not and will not have any interest in the game. In order for me to play I play online and against XG and GNU.How do you get people interested in learning the game and playing if they say not interested? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
