Using the Doubling Cube in a Non-Turn Based Game

I assume we are talking about a game of incomplete information because otherwise it makes no sense for both sides to want to double. But even so, I am having a hard time imagining a situation where both sides would want to double, and then both sides would want to pass. Can anyone construct a scenario along these lines, using whatever game you like?
