I've played the variant (without the bluff component) where you get to choose the 2/3 dice that you play, also where your opponent gets to choose. Both make for extreme variants, and train you to think in different ways.

Personally, I don't want to play in a chouette or heads up game where I may face a 128cube and a gammon, unless its for $1/pt - in which case I will play ridiculously until the cube hits a stake that I am going to become slightly more conservative. Just my own thought.
