While others gave you some examples of athletes that crashed and returned to glory....

Unfortunately, I see a lot of similarity to David Duval...... He got to the pinnacle of golf....was a solid #1 in the early part of the Tiger era, won the British Open, then had vertigo, back issues, and kept struggling for years, had two or three tourneys with flashes of his prior self, one a US Open where he was 2nd. Mostly did not make many cuts but kept trying and trying for a decade until this year, off to the golf channel as an analyst. He supposedly was hitting it good to great in practice....just could not bring it to the tour events.
