*** B/23 13/8 ***

There are three plays to look at: the quiet B/23 13/8, which brings a spare in a good place while unstacking the midpoint, but that let the Dillies use their builders to make a good point; B/23 6/1*, which takes away a tempo, and B/18, a distraction play that dupes 4s and 6s.

I am going to throw out the loose hit, because we have only 8 checkers in the zone and a stripped 8. We'd leave immediate aces and 5s as good roll, and if the Dillies just enter, we do not have the material to keep hitting and preventing the Dillies from using the builders.

Between the other two, it is a difficult choice. I'd go with the quiet play and the permanent value of the spare on the 8, but could easily be talked into B/18, which seems the DMP play but also looks like losing more net gammons. Perhaps significant is that the Dillies already have 11 checkers in the zone, so if they start hitting we may be vulnerable to an attack.
