Often in the early game you'll have the choice of swapping the 8pt for the 3pt. By that I mean making the 3pt when it will blot the 8pt. This is generally not the right idea. The 3pt isn't that hot of a point to begin with. We're trading a decent point for a decent point, like Casper said. There's really no upgrade.

With that play by the wayside and realizing the double hit so deep with nobody in the zone is the wrong way to go, 13/8 now becomes 'forced'. After that with the ace I'd much rather a tempo hit to take away half the opp's roll since I'm leaving lots of shots anyway so I put him on the bar with 3/2*.
