I'm not ignoring the counterweight just stating not what I even think is opinion, but fact, that potential future cube errors that aren't even 100% sure to have the opportunity to occur can't possibly outweigh the possibility of getting a pass, immediately, in the now, which is 100% sure to happen if we double. The error size of dropping said cube would be tough to overcome with a future error too even if they did happen at the same frequency.

It's kind of like what was proven long ago, immediate misplays to opening moves will not counter balance you making even relatively small errors on the opening roll.
