what is copyrightable?

It's true that ideas cannot be copyrighted, but it doesn't follow that "objective analysis" (whatever that means) can't be. Copyright protects the expression of ideas. An idea might be "objective" in some sense, but two different people could express the same idea in two different ways, and both could (in principle) enjoy copyright protection of their respective expressions.
It should also be noted that even if something is not protected by copyright, it might be protected in some other way. Brand names, for example, are usually protected as trademarks, which is not quite the same as copyright protection.
