Eric, I don't actually hear any bickering in this thread. Some people are interested conceptually in the principles of copyright law. None of these works under discussion are 'PD' and it's a little presumptuous of you to declare they are, or ought to be. Apparently both Stick and Jeremy have a modest financial interest in the life of their BG analysis -- and perhaps without that motivation they wouldn't have gotten around to to polishing up their analysis and make it available as they have. This is a totally reasonable conversation to be having. For some of us it's just interesting in itself.

Maybe backgammon is too frivolous a pursuit for anyone to be wasting time on as "our infrastructure rots away" and "our children get dumber?" It's always easy to say somebody else's topics are a waste of time. Maybe we should all be studying billiards to make the world a better place?
