I made a deck with Anki and screenshots as well. And I didn't get all that much value from it. I would learn some positions, then other positions that looked pretty similar would turn out different, and then I would get confused and forget the first positions. There were just too many of them. Which is what started me on the path to the paper and to FlashBack.

I have to say that my experience and my testers' experience with FlashBack is different. There's a system to learn that gets absorbed pretty quickly. (There are flashcards on the system itself.) Then you can reinforce the system by going over decks of cards that fit the system perfectly. When you get something wrong, there's a Hint button for instant feedback. And when you're ready, you can add in the exceptions.

I never got anywhere with Anki. But with FlashBack I was able to get the Replies down in under a week.
