The trade off between duration of the rollout and strength of the rollout to me calls for never using less than XGR cube. It is clearly stronger than 3 ply cube and I doubt you'll even notice the difference in the length your rollouts take. (not that I expect the bottom line answer to change here but why not be more sure?)
